UCLA Health Medicare Advantage pilot program

Here’s what you need to know.

  • Delta Dental is launching a pilot program in January 2025, partnering with SKYGEN, an expert in Medicare Advantage benefits management and administration.

In 2025, we will provide DeltaCare® USA dental benefits to UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan members in L.A. County and the surrounding areas.

We are launching this pilot with the goal of gathering information and improving processes. SKYGEN will provide a web-based portal and claims administration support, working as an extension of Delta Dental.

What you need to know

This pilot only affects patient and claim administration for the UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan. Providers who are assigned patients from this plan to their practice will need to take action.

What’s new

  • Changes to the Dentist Handbook ( Download PDF summary)
  • New portal registration — You have the option to use the Dental Hub, a different benefit administration portal, for the most convenient and efficient way to verify coverage, view patient benefit details and submit claims digitally for this group.
  • SKYGEN will send patient rosters and payments.
  • You will receive capitation payments by check from SKYGEN. For claims payments, the first payment will be issued by check, along with a notice outlining the available payment methods for future payments (check, e-payment, ACH, or virtual card). Please note, a no-fee ACH payment option is available, as well as additional options via Zelis payment vendor that incur fees but offer additional benefits for your consideration. Once you select your preferred payment method, all future payments for this group will be processed that way. If you are currently enrolled with Zelis and take no action after receiving the letter, your claim payments will continue based on your existing setup. If you are not enrolled with Zelis and do not choose any of the other options, you will continue to receive paper checks.
  • If you’re submitting paper claims, send them to:
    SKYGEN c/o Delta Dental Insurance
    UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan
    PO Box 2049
    Milwaukee, WI 53201

What stays the same

  • Your DeltaCare USA compensation won’t change.
  • Use Provider Tools to manage patients for all other Medicare Advantage plans and groups.
  • Use Provider Tools or call Delta Dental for any demographic changes for your practice.
  • Delta Dental will continue to manage your credentialing and recredentialing.
  • Register for the Dental Hub

Verify coverage, view benefit details and submit claims for UCLA Health Medicare Advantage patients on SKYGEN’s Dental Hub — not Provider Tools.

In January, we'll send you all the information you need to register.

Attend a training. Stay tuned for live and pre-recorded trainings starting in January.
