Delta Dental Community Care Foundation
Making an impact, one smile at a time
Striving to build caring, resilient communities.
The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation partners with local communities to increase access to care, support dental education and fund research that advances the oral health field. Since 2011, the Foundation has awarded more than $50 million across 15 states and the District of Columbia. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental of California and its affiliated companies, including Delta Dental Insurance Company, Delta Dental of Pennsylvania and Delta Dental of New York, Inc.
We partner across our local enterprise to support the following initiatives:
Each year, the Foundation awards several million dollars in Access to Care Grants to dental clinics across the country. These awards enable underserved individuals in the community to get preventive and restorative treatments in accessible locations.
Our scholarships and research grants support our partnerships with universities and the education and development of future dental professionals.
We invest in communities by providing smaller grants that focus on local communities where we operate, as well as encouraging employee engagement in the form of giving or volunteering within their local communities.
Too many people struggle with oral health issues, even though most are entirely preventable. As part of the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, our Access to Care grants fund activities designed to remove barriers to seeking care such as distance, cost, and even fear.
Grants may be used to:
By partnering with universities and academic institutions, we are supporting the next generation of dental professionals.
Scholarships and educational activities
The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation engages with universities across our enterprise and has created several endowed scholarships at the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, Penn Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry and the University of California, Los Angeles.
In addition to endowed scholarships, we provide funding to dental schools that support students’ research, leadership and ability to pursue service to their communities through smaller scholarships and other awards.
Serving those in need isn’t limited to oral health. With support from our group of companies, our Foundation has provided millions of dollars in contributions to various nonprofit groups.
