How you can give back to Veterans

Memorial Day is just around the corner, but did you know that all of May is Military Appreciation Month? It’s a great time to recognize the tremendous commitment and self-sacrifice of the people who have chosen to serve America and its people. One way your practice can honor them is by signing up for the federal government programs that serve military retirees, the families of active-duty service members, federal employees and annuitants. There are a few different networks that serve these patients, so here’s what you need to know about them.

Federal government programs and who they serve

If you’re looking to serve Veterans and the families of active service members, you can join the following programs.

  • The Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). FEDVIP is a dental and vision program available to certain retired uniformed service members and the family of active-duty members. It also serves federal employees and annuitants. This program is also known as Delta Dental Legion.
  • Veterans Affairs Dental Insurance Program (VADIP). VADIP offers dental insurance to Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system and eligible beneficiaries of the Civilian Health and medical Program of the VA (CHAMPVA).
  • Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA CCN). VA CCN is the department of Veterans Affairs (VA) network for Veterans. CCN is VA’s direct link with community providers to ensure that eligible Veterans receive timely and high-quality health care. This program is also known as Delta Dental Legion.

To learn more about how you can join these networks and serve Veterans and more, visit our federal government dental programs page or contact FSPS@delta.org with questions or to request a network application.
